we support flamingo revolution!

On 23 May 2026, protests began in the Albanian village of Zvërnec, near the Narta Lagoon, against preparatory works for a proposed luxury resort on Sazan Island and the nearby coast. After a protester was assaulted during a demonstration on 30 May, the protests spread to Tirana, other parts of Albania, and diaspora communities abroad. The protests expanded from opposition to the resort into broader criticism of Albania’s political system, the Rama IV Government, corruption, and state capture, with demonstrators calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Generation Z protesters have played a prominent role in the movement.

remembering for the future
Day of Remembrance for the Victims of National Socialism and exhibition “Je pense à toi Charlotte”
On the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Lichtenberg district office of Berlin invites you to it’s annual light campaign. Under the motto “Remembering for the future”, the projection of over 300 names onto the gable wall of the museum will begin at 5 pm. These are the names of Jews expelled and murdered from Lichtenberg and Hohenschönhausen. The names can be read until the early hours of January 28.
